February Parent and Family Update

2/10/2026

ADM Families,

As we diligently work to finish the 2025-26 school year strong, we are also deep into planning for the next school year. Spring break is fast approaching, and the busyness that accompanies April and May will be here before we know it. However, we remain committed and focused on our Wildly Important Goal of decreasing the % of PS-11 students identified as “Not Yet Proficient” in reading or ELA on the identified grade level state assessment from 12% to 10% by June 1, 2026.

FAST Reading and Math: Winter Screening

The FAST Reading and Math Screening Assessments are administered to students in grades K-8 three times each year (Fall, Winter, Spring). The purpose of each screening assessment is to identify students who are not yet meeting grade level proficiency in the areas of reading and math. Teachers use the data from each screening assessment to identify students who need targeted interventions and support for acquisition of specific skills.

On Monday night, ADM building principals provided an update to the ADM Board of Education about winter FAST reading and math screening results, as well as other information about intervention processes occurring at each building. The winter screening results indicate the lowest % of students PK-8 not yet proficient in both reading and math ever at ADM during winter screening! Take a moment to view the presentation and to review the results below.
