Volunteer Opportunities
Tiger Troops Do you know an adult who enjoys interacting with children and has some time to spare?  Adel Elementary is searching for caring adults to volunteer once per week for thirty minutes.  Tiger Troop volunteers work with students on a variety of reading, writing, and math activities.  No experience is needed, just a caring attitude and a friendly smile!  If you or parents, neighbors, grandparents, or community members are interested in volunteering for Tiger Troops, contact Kim Anderson at kanderson@admschools.org
PACT Committee Our Parent and Child Together (PACT) committee has monthly meetings that focus on educational topics and activities that support our students and teachers.  All Adel Elementary parents are invited to attend.  If you are interested in learning the date of the next meeting, please contact Tiffany Graham at Adel Elementary by email (tgraham@admschools.org) or by phone at 515.993.4285.
Reading Club Adel Elementary provides a weekly opportunity for students to listen to a book that is read aloud by a parent volunteer.  Each grade level has a specific day of the week when they can stop by the library at the start of lunch recess to enjoy a book before heading out to play.  If you are interested in being a reading club volunteer, contact Tiffany Graham at Adel Elementary by email (tgraham@admschools.org) or by phone at 515.993.4285.
Big Brothers / Big Sisters The staff at Adel Elementary works in collaboration with ADM High School to coordinate volunteer opportunities for high school students.  The students volunteer on a consistent basis by working one-on-one or in small groups with elementary students that the teacher has selected to receive additional support or a positive role model.
Watch D.O.G.S. This program encourages fathers, grandfathers, and uncles of Adel Elementary and DeSoto Intermediate students to volunteer to spend the day at the school serving as a positive role model.  The volunteers spend time on the playground, in the lunch room, and helping in classrooms.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Amy Goos at 515.993.4285, or contact your child’s building office.
