Please join us in congratulating Ellie Roquet for 5 years of service at ADM!

ADM Middle School Choir Director & Show Choir Director are the roles Ellie is most known for, but she also serves ADM as a Middle School Girls Track & Field Coach and as an Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach for ADM High School.

She was born and raised in Johnston, IA.  She received her Bachelors in Music Education from Wartburg College, and just last year she received her Master in Educational Leadership at Drake University.

Ellie chose ADM because the district felt like a tight knit community that offered her opportunities to stay involved in all of the things she is most passionate about.  She stays with ADM of the community as a whole.  She shared, “The administration continues to find opportunities for us to grow, but also encourages us to find a balance with our lives.  The families of ADM strive for greatness while also supporting the staff within the district.  Most importantly, the students are hungry to grow and they are appreciative of the relationships we build with them and the knowledge we share.”

When asked why she wanted to become a teacher, Ellie shared that she saw her mom go to school each day as an elementary P.E. teacher when she was growing up.  Through this, she was able to see the highs and lows of teaching young students.  When she got to high school she was inspired by her choir directors who encouraged students to learn and grow as musicians, while also teaching the importance of adding emotion and feeling to everything they do (both inside and outside of the music class).

Ellie enjoys working with the middle school age.  She shared that what enjoys most about her role is being part of a pivotal time in her students’ lives; being able to build trusting relationships with them, and encouraging them through their struggles and wins.  Additionally, she shares, “I love the opportunity to see the students in so many different settings.  Whether it's in the classroom, on the track, at competitions, or on the court, I love to show students that this is a great time in their lives to try everything and be a part of anything they're wanting to try.”

Outside of school, Ellie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working out, training for 5K’s and half marathons, trying out new restaurants or recipes, and singing karaoke.  She also works at a local wedding venue in her spare time and she enjoys that role, as well.

Thank you, Ellie Roquet, for your enthusiasm and your 5 years of service to ADM!
