Holly Garcia ~ 5 Years of Service!

Please join us in congratulating Holly Garcia for 5 years of service at ADM!

Holly is a Chemistry Teacher at ADM High School celebrating 5 years at ADM this year.  She was born and raised in Battle Creek, IA.  She received her BA in Chemistry Education as well as her MA in Science Education from University of Northern Iowa.  Prior to joining ADM High School, Holly taught at Riverside High School in Oakland, IA for 15 years.  This is the start of her 21st year in her teaching career.

She chose ADM because she already knew 2 science teachers who spoke very highly of the district, and when she eventually moved to central Iowa, she realized ADM was the only place she wanted to work.  She shared that she felt it was “kismet” when the Chemistry position became available in 2021.  She stated that it was hard to leave her previous district, but ADM proves to her every day that it was worth it.

When Holly was asked why she stays at ADM she shared, “That's simple: the people!  My students work hard and are incredibly kind.  My colleagues are dedicated and inclusive.  And my bosses let me do my job while advocating for students.  I love it here more than words can say!”

When Holly is not sharing the wonders of science, she enjoys reading, traveling, singing at her church, and indulging in lazy mornings with hot coffee whenever she can.

Holly shared that her 3rd grade daughter loves to join her at the high school to watch students in sports, speech, and drama.  She also likes to chat with Mr. Griebel (who she calls Mr. Monkeyman).

Thank you, Holly Garcia, for your 5 years of service with ADM!
