New Teacher Spotlight: Welcome Shawn Beenken!

Shawn Beenken joins ADM High School teaching PE and Health this year.  He is an ISU graduate and is in his 16th year as a teacher.  

Mr. Beenken moved to Adel in 2018.  He shared that he has been so impressed with the support that the entire community shows to all ADM school activities.  In addition to this, when asked why he chose ADM, Shawn stated, “despite being a growing district, it still has the feel of a small town. ”

Shawn has a lot of family members who are teachers and he grew up seeing the impact they had on their communities and their students.  He valued seeing this and stated this is why he became a teacher.

Outside of school, Mr. Beenken enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and helping at the farm back home.
