Mr. Braun, the Adel DeSoto Minburn High School Band Director, has been honored with the 2026 South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (SCIBA) High School Excellence in Teaching Award.  This award is a significant reflection and acknowledgment of Mr. Braun's commitment to his students and to music education.

This recognition is particularly noteworthy as it requires both a nomination and a vote from the entire SCIBA membership.  Furthermore, 2026 marks the inaugural year of the Excellence in Teaching Awards being presented, which makes Mr. Braun the first high school band director to receive this distinction.  He is scheduled to be recognized at the Iowa Bandmasters Association Conference in Des Moines this May.

ADM is immensely proud to have such an exemplary educator inspiring our students daily.
