20 Years of Service: Thank You, Connie Sloss!

Connie Sloss serves ADM as a special education teacher at ADM Middle School, and she is celebrating 20 years with ADM this year. She was born and raised in Redfield, IA, and she received a BS degree in Business Management and Marketing from Northwest Missouri State University. Connie spent six years as a trucking manager to 12 truck drivers prior to becoming a teacher. She realized a few years into this career that working with special needs students would be easier and more rewarding than working with truck drivers. She also had 3 boys in 13 months, so she decided to make a career shift and do daycare in her home while taking classes to obtain her teaching license. She received her BA in Education from Upper Iowa University, and her Masters in Special Education from Morningside University.
Connie chose ADM because she and her family were living in Adel and she wanted to work in the same school and community that her boys would be attending. She stays with ADM because she loves her students, the people she works with, and the community. While reflecting on some of her favorite memories at ADM, Connie shared that she has many great memories of working at the old middle school and subbing at the Minburn school. “Reminiscing about former students always brings a smile to my face,” Connie shared with us, happily!
Outside of the school day, Connie enjoys reading and traveling to see family.
Please help us thank Connie Sloss for her 20 years of support and service to the ADM community.
