A woman with glasses smiles in a graphic thanking her for 10 years of service.

McKenzie Gettler  is an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at ADM High School.  She is celebrating 10 years of service with ADM this year.  This is her 16th year teaching.  Prior to teaching with ADM, McKenzie taught at Orient-Macksburg High School for 5 years.  McKenzie was born and raised in Menlo, IA. She attended Kirkwood Community College with a focus in Equine Science Technology and Iowa State University with a focus in Agricultural Education.

She chose ADM because she was excited for the opportunity to start a (then) new program at ADM, plus the district has a reputation of high quality academics.  She stays at ADM because of the great kids, great families, and great facilities.  Regarding this, she states, “ADM feels like home now!”  When asked about why she wanted to be a teacher, McKenzie stated, “I wanted to become an agriculture teacher to inspire future leaders, nurture their passion for growth, innovation, and stewardship, and help shape the hands that will feed the world.”  What McKenzie enjoys most about her current role at ADM is with students through engaging content, real-world experiences, FFA contests, and leadership opportunities.

When McKenzie is not in the classroom, she loves spending time with her family, watching her kids' sporting events, flower/pumpkin gardening, and hobby farming.  She also has horses and a mixed poultry flock that she enjoys tending to.

Thank you, McKenzie Gettler, for your 10 years of service with ADM!
