Please join us in congratulating Kacie Whipps for 5 years of service with ADM this year!

Kacie is a PE teacher at Meadow View Elementary School.  She was born in Kirksville, MO and moved to Adel, IA with her family in 2nd grade, and she attended college at UNI.  Mrs. Whipps is starting her 20th year in her teaching career.  Prior to ADM, Kacie taught PE and Health Education for Waukee for 14 years.  In addition to teaching, Kacie is also a certified coach, a yoga instructor, and a water safety instructor.  She also coached middle school cross country for 8 years prior to coming to ADM.  

Mrs. Whipps wanted to be a teacher because she loves getting to work with children every day.  She enjoys being able to combine her passion for movement with this opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives.  When asked what she loves most about her role at ADM, Kacie states, “Every day, I get to help kids discover the joy of being active, building confidence in their own abilities, and developing lifelong habits for health and wellness!”  

Kacie chose ADM because of the community feel, as well as how the district continues to prioritize teaching the whole child (PE, Art, Music, Clubs, etc.).  She stays with ADM because she enjoys getting to empower students through physical activity and health.  She also loves that the staff are so friendly and supportive.  Additionally, she feels fortunate to be in the same district as her own children and get to be a part of their journey, as well. 

Outside of work, Kacie likes spending time outdoors, especially canoeing, hiking, running, and exploring new places with her family.  She also really enjoys cooking and trying new recipes.  She has also gotten a lot of fulfillment out of volunteering her time to the Adel Parks and Rec Department.
