Children play with hula hoops outdoors on a sunny day.

During the week of September 29th, students at Meadow View Elementary participated in Wellness Week.  Each day there was a different focus on promoting healthy habits.  On Monday, students expressed gratitude by adding notes to a colorful bulletin board in the main entrance. Tuesday encouraged movement with Partner Tag in the front of the building.  Teachers had the opportunity to take their students outside throughout the day to get a little extra sunshine! Iowa's Annual Healthiest State Walk was on Wednesday.  The walk included hula hoop activities, a chalk obstacle course, stretching and running relays, with help from high school student volunteers. Thursday was Secret Kindness Day, where students completed small, thoughtful tasks for others, and Friday wrapped the week by adding positive reflections to classroom Joy Jars.
