Here is a description of each unit of study, time frame of study, and the essential learnings of each integrated unit study taught in kindergarten.

Safety 1 Week
  1. Individuals develop personal safety responsibilities, which includes pedestrian, bicycle, auto, fire and water safety.
My Body 2 Weeks
  1. People can make healthy choices in the foods that they eat.
  2. People can contribute to their physical wellness by being active and avoiding risky behaviors.
  3. To stay healthy, people understand the effectiveness of their health choices.
My Community 2 Weeks
  1. Communities have rules and laws that all members are expected to follow to benefit all people.
  2. Each individual has an equal right and a shared responsibility to contribute positively to their community.
My Past 3 Weeks
  1. Historical information can be read and interpreted.
  2. People can learn about the past in many ways – stories, customs, and holidays.
  3. People need some things to live and want other things to make life easier or more fun.
