The ADM School District is excited to announce the selection of 11 ADM students for participation in the 37th annual Opus Honor Choir Festival! Students selected for this honor include 5th-grade students Kailyn Foster, Audrey Johnston, and Lynnaea Wilkins; 7th-grade students Dawson Foster, Wyatt Johnson, and Langston Wilkins; 8th-grade students Cade Huskey and Will Truitt; and 9th-grade students William Beebe, Darragh McHugh, and Laynie Pratt. Congratulations to these ADM students on earning this special honor for their hard work and accomplishment in vocal music. ADM would also like to recognize the district’s vocal music directors Sandy Miller, Ellie Roquet, and Becca Cassel for their dedication to supporting these students with learning the OPUS music and recording student auditions.

Over 2400 students were nominated by their directors for 720 positions in the four Opus Honor Choirs. Selections were made by means of a recorded audition. Guest conductors of the choirs include Tami Meiners, Carroll Community School District, 5th & 6th Grade Honor Choir; Thad Wilkins, Mt. Vernon Community Schools, 7th & 8th Grade Bass Clef Honor Choir; Abby Sheppard, Sioux City Community Schools, 7th & 8th Grade Treble Clef Honor Choir; and Matt Walker, Iowa City Community School District,  9th Grade Mixed Honor Choir. The 2023 Opus Honor Choirs will perform at 4:00 p.m. November 16th in C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in the Iowa State Center in Ames. The Opus Honor Choir Festival is made possible by the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Inc.
