Last week, incoming kindergarten students for the 2023-24 school year participated in the kindergarten screening process at Adel Elementary. During this time, students were able to interact with peers, work with adults, and do a variety of activities.

The screening process provides an opportunity for the early childhood team to get to know students better through observation of their interactions and readiness skills for school. It also gives the early childhood team a chance to best support placement in a prekindergarten or a kindergarten classroom, as well as balancing classroom lists across our kindergarten sections. These suggested placements are then communicated out to parents.

The purpose of prekindergarten is to allow students an additional year of social maturity and emotional growth.
We are so excited to see all our students in the fall!
