Please join us in congratulating Julie McAdon for 15 years of consecutive service at ADM!

Julie is starting her 26th year in education. Julie grew up in Spirit Lake, IA, Julie attended Iowa State University, receiving a degree in Education with endorsements in English and Reading. She received a masters in Special Education from Morningside College. Julie held several positions while teaching in Arizona for ten years. These included a privately run preschool, teaching 1st grade in a private Christian school, and teaching level three special education for the Dysart School District.

Some ADM community members may know Julie’s mother-in-law, Shirley McAdon. Shirley wanted Julie’s family to come back to Adel to live near other family members and to join a district that she spoke highly of. Julie currently serves at ADM Middle School as a 7th grade Literacy teacher. Julie has always enjoyed working with kids and seeing their social, emotional, and educational growth over the course of a year or more. She wanted more than just a “job”, but rather a career with a positive purpose. Julie appreciates the strong support system of teachers, principals, school board and ADM parents. When asked about working at ADM Julie shared, “The kids and the adults I work with on a daily basis and the Middle schoolers are amazing humans that give me joy every day.” Outside of the school day, Julie enjoys reading, family time, going for walks/hikes, and traveling.

Please help us thank Julie for her support and service to the ADM community.
