Last week, four year old preschool students had the opportunity to engage in the Individual Growth and Development Indicators (IGDIs) Assessment. This is a literacy assessment for four year old students that monitors the growth and development of students before they go to Kindergarten. The purpose is to give preschool teachers more information about students in order to identify areas of strength and areas for growth. This allows the teacher to intervene on specific areas of concern and monitor their progress in those areas.

Students were assessed in five areas this testing period. These include: Picture Naming, Rhyming, Sound Identification, Which One Doesn’t Belong, and Alliteration.

We are excited to dive into our IGDI’s data and use the data to drive our instruction!
