With spring break a few days away, it is important to communicate the latest guidance on travel due to the coronavirus.
At this time five countries around the world have been identified by the CDC as being “high-risk” for the spread of the coronavirus: China, Iran, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.
The Iowa Department of Public Health recommends that anyone who visits those countries voluntarily self-isolates for 14 days upon their return.
ADM encourages any family or student who visits somewhere the CDC has identified as a high risk for Coronavirus to follow the public health recommendations of voluntary self-isolation upon their return. If families travel to these areas, or plan to, they should notify their school nurse to make arrangements for the student’s reentry to school.
There are no other travel advisories or restrictions pertaining to coronavirus, internationally or in the US; however, before traveling it is a good idea to stay informed. Visit the CDC or IDPH web sites for the latest information.
