ADM is pleased to announce that Dr. Amy Hemphill has been named building principal of the DeSoto Intermediate 5th and 6th grade building for the 2021-22 school year. Amy is in her third year as the assistant principal at Adel Elementary and DeSoto Intermediate and will continue serving in this position until 2021-22 school year. “We are very excited to have Amy move to a principal position at ADM. She has done an excellent job as an assistant and she is ready for this next step as a leader,” said superintendent Greg Dufoe. 

When asked about the new position, Amy Hemphill shared, “I am honored to fulfill the role of principal at DeSoto Intermediate in the fall of 2021.  ADM is truly a special place, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue my professional career in a district that is unwavering in its commitment to students and educators.” Prior to becoming an assistant principal, Amy taught 4th grade at DeSoto Intermediate for five years. She received her BA degree from Augustana College and her MA in curriculum and instruction from Baker University. Assistant Principal Hemphill was awarded her doctorate in educational leadership from Drake University in 2018. Join us in congratulating Amy Hemphill on her new position at ADM!
