On April 9th, 4th and 5th grade students from DeSoto Intermediate participated in the Exercising Your Character event at Hy-Vee Hall. This event included singing and motivational messages from famous athletes, chefs and other role models. In addition, dancers lead students through several fun, upbeat songs that got them moving to complete 30 minutes of aerobic activity!

Hy-Vee has sponsored Exercising Your Character since 2007 in cooperation with The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center, an organization that promotes civility through character development at all stages in life. All students received a free t-shirt, wristband and headband. Following the event, a sack lunch was provided by Hy-Vee before returning to DeSoto Intermediate for the afternoon. This is an event our students look forward to annually!
