Adel Elementary School students and staff celebrated Fall Book Week the week of November 12th. The theme for this literacy-focused week was “Reading Takes Us Out of This World.” The students had the opportunity to learn about the moon, space, constellations, and astronauts through many engaging books and literacy activities. Additionally, they engaged in space-themes activities that culminated with a “Reading under the Stars” event in their classroom. Adel Elementary coupled Book Week with a service project, collecting food donations for the Adel Food Pantry. Young Tigers brought in 1,800 food goods as a result of this effort and had a great week celebrating reading, outer space, and helping others!
