On Wednesday, December 12th, ADM Middle School celebrated the annual Family History Day with 8th-grade students. An ADM parent, Mike Austin, spoke to the students about genealogy: the study of tracing back descendants of a family.
Mr. Austin studies his family’s past as a hobby and it’s quickly become his passion, as he’s found out some pretty cool history about his ancestors. He shared with students how they can learn about their family’s history, what he’s found out about his family history and the IMPACT of studying history on his life.
The 8th-grade students also had time for “show and tell” where students shared what they learned about their own family history and what they learned about their classmate’s family history, too.
