Welcome to kindergarten! This is such an important year as your child begins his/her first year of his/her school career. You will be amazed how your young child will grow academically, socially and emotionally this year! Kindergarten is filled with many nurturing experiences to help your child develop into a successful, independent learner.
Kindergartners attend a full day of school every day. Kindergarten has an established curriculum that includes all aspects of a balanced literacy program. In addition to balanced literacy, handwriting, math, social studies and science will be taught. Your kindergartner will grow as a reader and a writer throughout the year.
Your child will be engaged in many social activities daily including centers, recess, lunch, and specials. These experiences will give them the opportunity to build social skills and independence.
Kindergarten is a year full of celebrations! Along with academic successes, we also enjoy holiday parties, field trips, guest speakers, book weeks, and birthdays.
