The Third Grade students performed their concert, “The Great Outdoors” directed and compiled by Mrs. Courtney Albers on January 28th.

Their concert featured songs reflecting on the beauty of the American landscape. The concert opened with “This Land is Your Land” Students learned various Orff arrangements to accompany several of their songs, such as “Rocky Mountain” and “Down the River.” They learned about singing rounds and performed “I Love the Mountains” in a four-part round. The concert ended with “America the Beautiful.” Students were also given the opportunity to have speaking parts. Each student was assigned an instrument part, a movement part, or a speaking part in the concert. They did an excellent job learning their parts and remembering when in the concert they needed to come forward.

Students also learned about performance etiquette and excelled in their concert. They were given the opportunity to reflect on their performance and talk about what they enjoyed and what they were proud of.

We are so proud of our third grade students!
