ADEL, IA — The Adel DeSoto Minburn (ADM) Community School District School Board has named Josh Jacobs as the district’s next school business manager, pending board approval.

Jacobs currently serves as the school business official, director of human resources, and board secretary in the Martensdale-St. Marys Community School District, where he oversees budgeting and finances, purchasing, transportation, food services, and safety and risk management. He also developed a business procedural manual to strengthen internal controls across district operations.

With 20 years of experience in education, Jacobs brings expertise in financial planning, operations, team leadership, technology, and project management within school districts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance from Iowa State University and a School Business Official (SBO) Authorization from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. Jacobs is a member of the Iowa Association of Business Officials and previously served as a community education coordinator in the Urbandale CSD.

“It is a tremendous honor to be selected as the next school business manager for ADM,” said Jacobs. “I am passionate about supporting programs that foster student success and strengthen the surrounding community. I look forward to partnering with the district’s dedicated staff, students, and community members.”

Board members worked with Grundmeyer Leader Services to conduct the search. Jacobs interviewed with  business office staff, administrators and board members on December 10.

“Josh brings a wealth of experience and a student-centered approach to this role,” said Greg Dufoe, ADM Superintendent. “His leadership will enhance our district’s operations and support our mission of engaging all students in a challenging and supportive environment to ensure they learn at high levels. We are beyond excited to welcome him to ADM.”

Jacobs will officially begin his role as school business manager on February 4. As part of his responsibilities, Jacobs will join the school board as a non-voting member, serving as board secretary and treasurer.
