MacKenzie Major is a recent graduate from Iowa State University and this will be her first year teaching. She is excited to join ADM as a 5th grade teacher at DeSoto Intermediate School.
Outside of the classroom MacKenzie enjoys road tripping with her fiance and her dog. She also loves to cook and bake. She chose ADM because they made her feel right at home during her observation. MacKenzie shared, “I created such amazing relationships with the students, faculty, and fellow teachers at DI in such a short amount of time that it was really hard for me to leave.” When she got the call that a position she was interested in had opened up, she knew it was a sign that ADM was where she was meant to be. MacKenzie became a teacher because she believes that teachers are the foundation of shaping the future minds of the world. As she states, “All children have their strengths, passions, and lights to be shown and teaching can be used as a tool to allow students to use those strengths to shine in the world. Teaching is also a profession that truly changes the way the world works and I want to be a part of that in every way.” Additionally, and on a deeper level, MacKenzie believes all children deserve an adult who will allow their light to shine bright and she wants to be that for all of her students.
Please welcome MacKenzie Major to the DeSoto Intermediate team!
