The ADM Preschool is housed in Adel Elementary and is offered to 3 year-old and 4 year-old children who are of age prior to September 15th of the current school year. The program’s goal is to provide a high quality preschool program meeting each child’s needs, including children with disabilities and those from a diverse background. The preschool provides a rich learning environment that encourages children’s natural curiosity and supports them to take risks that lead to new skill development. It is a setting where children feel safe, respected, and cared for. This is an opportunity for three and four-year-old children to take part in planned, active learning experiences to build their readiness skills. The preschool program has adopted the Iowa Quality Preschool Program Standards, administered by the Iowa Department of Education. The Iowa Early Learning Standards are used to guide expectations for the children and instructional practices.
AM session (3-year-olds): 8:45 – 11:30
PM session (4-year-olds): 12:30 – 3:15
All those interested in the program need to either stop into the Adel Elementary School Office to obtain the paperwork needed to pre-register your child for preschool or click on the Preschool Application link above. The application needs to be returned to Adel Elementary where it will be date stamped and filed for the correct preschool year. Class lists will be determined in the winter prior to the start of the preschool year and all those students who have pre-registered will be notified by mail whether or not they received a spot in the class or not. Final registration materials will be mailed in May to fill out and return to school prior to the school year starting. Registration materials are available from Adel Elementary.
