Testing & Assessment
Along with all public schools throughout the nation, we measure student learning through standardized assessments. The data from these assessments provide us with information about each of our students, and also allow for general comparisons of the effectiveness of our educational programs with those of other schools throughout the state and the nation.
While these assessments are an important measure of success, and contribute to our data-driven decision-making processes, they are not the primary focus of our educational program, which remains on our students themselves.
In addition to the Iowa Assessments, we also use a variety of local assessments to measure student progress with an emphasis on formative assessments that enable us to provide ongoing feedback and quickly refine our approach to educating each student.
