Closings & Delays
School may be closed, delayed, or dismissed early due to inclement weather or other emergency situations. Decisions to cancel school are not taken lightly, and any changes to our regular schedule are made by the superintendent after consultation with our director of transportation with a goal of ensuring the safety of our students.
The district uses the SchoolMessenger alert system, which we will use to notify parents of any cancellation decisions by email, phone, and text. More information regarding cancellation notifications can be found below:
Phone and Email Notification
Our SchoolMessenger alert system, which draws contact information from our Infinite Campus student information system, will automatically notify parents by email and phone in the event of a cancellation. To update your contact information in Infinite Campus, log in to the Infinite Campus Portal or contact your building office.
Text Message Notification
We will also send text message notifications to parents who opt-in to receiving texts. In order to opt in, simply text the word “Subscribe” to 68453, using a cell phone that you have registered in Infinite Campus.
District Website Banner
The district website will include a banner notification of school cancellations, delays, or early dismissals as soon as the decision has been made.
We notify area television stations of closures, delays, and early dismissals. This information can be seen on the scrolling bar along the bottom of the screen during inclement weather events, and viewed via the stations’ websites.
