The Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School District is partnering with the Adel Police Department to present a drug abuse education program (D.A.R.E.) to third grade students at Meadow View Elementary School, starting this week.  The primary emphasis of the program is to assist students in recognizing and resisting the pressures that influence them to experiment with drugs.  The program is entitled D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).

The program will be taught by Officer Keller, a police officer for the City of Adel and also the ADM School District Resource Officer.  The curriculum will cover such topics as how to say no to peers, building self-esteem, and alternatives to drug use.

We feel very fortunate to have the D.A.R.E. Program at Adel DeSoto Minburn!
