Adel Elementary celebrates student writers as they take a written piece through the stages of writing by studying mentor authors and making intentional writing decisions. Our young authors immerse themselves in genre studies, study multiple texts, practice new writing techniques, and conference with their teachers. As students “stand on the shoulders” of their mentors, they are able to execute new writing skills and publish their own text to share with their class.
