ADM High School Senior Anna Walls is the second-place winner for the Iowa Center for the Book’s annual Letters About Literature Contest. To enter the contest, Iowa students write a letter to an author explaining how that author’s work changed their way of thinking about the world or themselves. ADM students in Advanced Placement Language and Composition courses submit letters to the contest each fall.

Letters from all Iowa students are read by judges for the first round of judging and selected letters are recommended to advance to the next round of judging as a semifinalist. Rounds two and three involve a panel of judges at each competition level to read the semifinalist letters and choose first, second, and third place winners and three honorable mentions in each level.

Anna is the fourth ADM High School student to place in Honorable Mention or 1st-3rd place for grades 9-12 since ADM began participating in the contest five years ago. Anna will be honored during a virtual awards ceremony on May 1st. Join us in congratulating Anna Walls!
