On February 18th, fifth grade students at DeSoto Intermediate participated in a Star lab experience with local Environmental Education Coordinator/Naturalist, Chris Adkins. Chris partnered with fifth grade teachers to provide students a learning activity that aligns with their current science unit of study, Observing Our Sky.  The Star Lab is an inflatable, portable planetarium, and students enter the dome to experience the stars and planets come alive.  This simulated learning activity is a favorite for DeSoto students, and it allows for real life application of their new scientific learning.
