Senior ADM FFA member Max Weesner recently travelled to Indianapolis, Indiana to partake in the 92nd National FFA Convention and Expo as part of the National FFA Chorus.  The 82 member chorus sang selections during convention sessions in Lucas Oil Stadium and at other public events around Indianapolis. Weesner was selected as one of four Iowa members on this year’s choir chosen from hundreds of national applicants after submitting a video audition last summer.

The National FFA Organization is the largest student-led leadership organization in the country with over 700,000 members (ages 12-21) in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The FFA’s mission is to develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success in students interested in exploring the MANY facets of agriculture; not just future farmers.

The Adel DeSoto Minburn FFA chapter was chartered in 2015 and currently has 72 members on its roster. The chapter competes in various leadership/skills contests such as Ag Broadcasting, Parliamentary Procedure, and Meats Evaluation; carries out activities at the local level such as Socktober, The Hunger Game, and ADM Ag Day with DeSoto 3rd graders; and attends State and National Convention every year.  For more information about the FFA chapter, please contact mgettler@adm.k12.ia.us or check out www.ffa.org.
