Honors English Students Perform Shakespeare

Mrs. Longman’s Honors English II students not only read Shakespeare’s Hamlet this year, but had the opportunity to perform it as well.  After reading and studying the first four acts in the classroom, they were “turned loose” on the final climactic scene.  One student, Brennan McGee was appointed by Mrs. Longman to act as the director. Everything from that point on was student-led, from casting to interpreting, rehearsal to staging, lighting to sound, props, costumes, and set.  Students were able to perform their work during a block period for a group of their peers.
