Each quarter, DeSoto Intermediate staff and students attend PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) assemblies that focus on the DeSoto Intermediate expectations of ROARing:

Respecting Others

Always Safe

Be Responsible

The second quarter assembly targeted positive sportsmanship and encouragement of others in a “pie themed” event!  After learning about various ways they could exhibit respectful behaviors when participating in or observing games and competitions, student names were drawn from a collection of PBIS tickets to participate in an activity that allowed them to throw a pie in their teacher’s face.  The students in the audience had the opportunity to exhibit positive sportsmanship and encouragement toward their peers. DeSoto Intermediate’s quarterly assemblies are a time for students and staff to celebrate behavioral successes, set goals, and have fun!
