Welcome Back 2018-19

Welcome to ADM Schools! We are excited to get the 2018-19 school year underway. Students will arrive on August 23 for the first of 177 days of school. While the end of school seems so far away, we all know how quickly a school year goes. Each day is extremely valuable and we plan on working hard to win each day for the students at ADM!

Our game plan for this year has two very important areas of focus. The first is our ongoing effort to fully and faithfully utilize the Professional Learning Community process in order to achieve our mission of ensuring high levels of learning for ALL students. All teachers belong to a collaborative team that is the fundamental structure to our school improvement efforts. We are excited to take the next steps on our PLC journey.

Our second area of focus is our Technology For Learning initiative.  The goal of this initiative is to provide better access to technology to promote active digital citizenship and to enhance student learning through innovation, risk-taking, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creation, and engagement with the global community. Students in every building will come back to school to find increased access to technology.

Each student in grades 6-12 will receive a Chromebook to be used at school and at home, while each student in grades 3-5 will be assigned a Chromebook to be used primarily in the classroom.  Students in grades PK-1 will have increased access to iPads, with classroom teachers having one device for every two students. Our 2nd-grade students will have access to a mixed platform of Chromebooks and iPads.  We are excited to see the impact that technology will have on our classrooms at ADM.

Another theme for the 2018-19 school year is growth. We are in the midst of a Facility Master Planning process to provide the blueprint for our decisions to effectively capitalize on the opportunities growth provides.

At ADM, we have worked hard to develop a core set of promises that we keep to each other and to the community.  These promises are called “Collective Commitments”.  One of our “collective commitments” is to provide parents with the resources, strategies, and information needed to help all students learn at high levels. We hope to provide you with everything you need as parents to help create a great start to the year. Our partnership with parents is an essential condition of success, and I can’t thank you all enough for your support!

We are committed to winning each of the 177 days our students come to school, and our first opportunity starts on August 23!
