Technology For Learning Initiative: Over the past several years, ADM has been preparing for significant changes that will provide increased access to computers and tablets for our students and create technology-rich classrooms for learning. Following Board action on the purchase of iPads and Chomebooks in May and June, ADM is excited to launch the Technology for Learning Initiative at the start of the 2018-2019 school year!

Purpose: The ADM Technology for Learning Initiative focuses on student use of technology to promote active digital citizenship and to enhance student learning through innovation, risk-taking, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creation, and engagement with the global community.

Devices and Access: The Technology for Learning Initiative provides increased access to devices for ADM students:

ADM High School & Middle School:  Each student will be assigned a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year.  Students will be allowed to take devices between school and home freely.

DeSoto Intermediate: Teachers will have access to one Chromebook for each student.  Chromebooks will be stored in carts or charging stations in each classroom.  Devices will be used primarily at school and will not travel freely between school and home.

Adel Elementary (Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and First Grade): Teachers will have access to one iPad for every two students.  Devices will be stored in carts or charging stations in each classroom. Devices will only be used at school.

Adel Elementary (Second Grade): Teachers will have access to either one iPad or one Chromebook for every two students.  Devices will be stored in carts or charging stations in each classroom. Devices will only be used at school.

We are committed to engaging ALL students in a challenging and supportive environment that ensures ALL students learn at high levels. We believe that the ADM Technology for Learning Initiative is a positive next step in helping us live out this mission!

More information will be sent out in August, including a list of frequently asked questions and links to parent resources.  For more information, please visit the ADM Website and review the full ADM Technology for Learning Plan and History.
