For many students, our winter dance was the social highlight of the year. We had over 200 students attend the dance and pack the floor for 2 hours. The night was a blast and many students had a really great time dancing and hanging out!

As fun as the dance was, something bigger was happening at the same time. Our Student Council, who hosted the dance, committed to donate 100% of the proceeds from the dance to support our local community. To fulfill this commitment all proceeds from the dance were donated to the Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center of Iowa. Just this week, students were able to meet with representatives from the center and present a check for $600 dollars! This money has already been used to support 15 families in the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn community.

A whole-hearted thank you to all students who attended our winter dance. Without your involvement a donation like this would not have been possible. See below a picture of the check presentation and also a picture of a giant paper snowflake which dance attendees signed to document their participation.
