At Adel Elementary, our focus is on being a buddy to one another. During the month of December the students, families and staff members took time to generously give back to The Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Adel. This local group started a program that provides weekend meals to students that signed up to participate, indicating that they need assistance. Each Friday, two breakfast items, two lunch items and two snacks go home with each student. This program is so beneficial for many of our Adel Elementary students and we wanted to take time to give back to show our appreciation.
During the two weeks of the food drive, boxes and bags of needed items were brought to be donated for those in need that utilize The Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Adel. On Monday, December 14th four parent volunteers packaged up all of the donations and delivered the food to the food pantry. Thank you to all of the students, families and staff members that so generously donated to this community group that will be able to use the food to provide for those in need. Adel Elementary definitely demonstrated how to be a buddy to our local community.
